"As part of preparation to take the AWS Solutions Architect - Associate exam, I picked up this book as one of various items to help me study. While the idea of having 1000+ practice questions sounds good, it's only helpful if the questions are representative of the actual test as well as being correct.
What I found is that the questions in this book tend to focus on the trivialities - like "how many S3 buckets can an AWS account have?" - whereas the actual exam (which I took and passed two days ago) is scenario-based. Yes, the details are needed to help with the scenarios, but having more actual scenario-based questions would have made this book more valuable.
Additionally, there were quite a few mistakes in the questions themselves. One question asked about the URL for an S3 bucket in the US West 2 region. Only one answer had "us-west-2" in the URL, but was considered wrong because it was the wrong region. Turns out the question should have been asking about the US West 1 region instead. In another question about auto scaling, the "correct" answer has the wrong start time in it (7:45pm listed, 5:45pm correct).
The only reason for giving two stars instead of just one is that the questions on trivialities did help to some degree. And the mistakes actually helped me really understand AWS. But I would not recommend this book for someone who is depending on the questions and answers being both correct and representative of the real exam."
