"Loved this as much as the 1st two! In this volume, Gertrude decides she is going to turn things around and be a "Good Girl" and then maybe her luck will change and she will finally be able to find her key and go home. OMG this ending just left my poor brain spinning!!! I did NOT see that coming!!!"

I Hate Fairyland Volume 3 Good Girl Skottie Young Books Reviews

  • Hey girl, open the walls, play with your dolls
    We'll be a perfect family
When you walk away, it's when we really play
You don't hear me when I say,
    Mom, please wake up
Dad's with a slut, and your son is smoking cannabis
No one never listens, this wallpaper glistens
Don't let them see what goes down in the kitchen
Places, places, get in your places
Throw on your dress and put on your doll faces
    Everyone thinks that we're perfect
Please don't let them look through the curtains
Picture, picture, smile for the picture
Pose with your brother, won't you be a good sister?
    Everyone thinks that we're perfect
Please don't let them look through the curtains
    D-O-L-L-H-O-U-S-E

    Hey…
  • Skottie Young's I HATE FAIRYLAND has rebounded nicely in volume 3 from volume 2. And my only gripe with volume 2 was that it rushed the first issue and glossed over what was an amazing opportunity for a complete arc on its own.

With volume 3, Gert continues her quest to go home. Others see that as a flaw, but I would have been disappointed if she wanted anything else. The character hasn't grown enough yet to want anything else. Anyway, it doesn't matter what Gert wants because we know from Future Gert in volume 2 that a much bigger story arc is at play.

And the cameos and ending and everything? Skottie Young is taking his time with this story, and I love it.
  • Item came on time and as expected. My children and I have read Vol. 1. We all enjoyed it. We have yet to read 2-4. I suspect they will be awesome. Skottie Young is an excellent story teller and artist! These books are geared more towards the mature, but that also depends on your level of sensibility. The curse words are cute like “fluff,” replacing an F bomb and there is violence. My 7 year old son read Vol. 1, but I’m no pearl clutcher. It’s honestly pretty tame compared to many video games and shows these kids are entertained by, but for some reason, some people get uptight when it’s in print. Just a heads up. In the end, it’s a cute, fun, worthwhile read.
  • This is what I expect from I Hate Fairyland. Boy do I fluffing love Gert!! She’s sassy and in control. She tries to be good which just goes so bad you can’t help but laugh with every page. This volume was loaded with humor, action, pop culture references that kept me laughing and addicted to this entertaining but graphic comic. As always the coloring and art is vibrant and stunning. I can’t get enough of this series and hope it continues for a while longer. I didn’t see that ending coming!
  • This story just keeps getting better and better! I love the mischief that Gert gets into even when she is trying to be good. Trouble just follows her everywhere in Fairyland. This is a Great continuation of the story and I am REALLY looking forward to reading the next installment when it comes out! The illustrations are so detailed and colorful! I am VERY happy that I have this series on my bookshelves!
  • Loved this as much as the 1st two! In this volume, Gertrude decides she is going to turn things around and be a "Good Girl" and then maybe her luck will change and she will finally be able to find her key and go home. OMG this ending just left my poor brain spinning!!! I did NOT see that coming!!!
  • Am I crazy or are the colors slightly off? Volume 1 seems to have more vibrant colors, whereas 2 and 3 are slightly dull in comparison? Seriously I’m wondering if it’s just me that thinks that...
  • This book is hysterical. The graphics are amazing, the story line is SO perfect, and Skottie Young is one talented dude. Muffin Fluffer is my new favorite phrase.
