Ethics for Addiction Professionals Jennifer D Berton Books Reviews

  • Probably one of the best text's on Ethics for the Addiction Professional I've ever read. Straight-forward, to the point information, not too much fluff or history on the Tarasoff Case...but rather incredibly relevant and applicable information. This is truly for the direct care addiction professional and every clinical supervisor or trainer should have a copy of this text book. Dr. Berton does a phenomenal job getting straight to the point and providing realistic case studies and samples on how to properly apply ethics to our daily practice with clients wrestling with addiction and recovery.
  • This winter, I had the pleasure and honor of teaching a class entitled Ethical and Legal Aspects of Addiction Counseling to students in the alcohol and drug studies course at Loyola Marymount University. I choose the book “Ethics for Addiction Professionals” because of the books I read in preparing for the class, I found this one to be the most comprehensive and well organized. I loved the emphasis on counselor wellness as an integral part of ethics. The students loved the personable nature of the book. As one student said “It felt like she was talking directly to us!” I am recommending Dr. Berton’s book to all my friends and acquaintances who are instructors, supervisors, and counselors in the addiction’s field.

  • Very good product, as usual the prime service was fantastic. Best price on the Internet
  • Very useful. good book!
  • If you are going into the addictions field this is a must read. It was easy to follow and not a hard reader but also really informative as to the ethical dilemmas that can arise.
  • Arrived as scheduled. It is a school textbook.
  • There is little written to educate counselors, therapists, and MD's on the ethics for addiction professionals. The is a very clear well written guide to the ethics all therapy professionals need for their education. This is a book which should be part of every therapy training program. Great job, Dr. Berton!
